The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is dedicated to advancing the field through exceptional clinical care, innovative research, and dedicated education. About the Role
This position is designed for a scholar-practitioner with a strong track record of clinical expertise in emergency medicine and significant academic accomplishments. The successful candidate will serve as a vital link between patient care, research, and education, contributing to the department's mission at Tampa General Hospital and its satellite locations.
In this role, you will balance clinical responsibilities in the emergency department with active participation in educational research, grant writing, and other scholarly activities. You will be expected to develop and maintain a robust research program while engaging in interdisciplinary projects that align with the evolving needs of emergency medicine. Beyond the clinic and lab, you will play a key role in academic advising, teaching, and service, representing the university, college, or department in various capacities.
Hiring Process
Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications—including a doctoral degree from an accredited institution and a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, research, and service—will be considered for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate and Full Professor positions, candidates are expected to be recognized authorities in their field with a history of creative work and professional writing in refereed journals.
