As an Abatement Laborer in Anchorage, AK, you will be a vital part of our team handling hazardous materials and demolition activities. This role is essential for ensuring safe and compliant removal, packing, transport, and disposal of substances such as asbestos, lead-based paint, waste oil, fuel, transmission fluid, radioactive materials, and contaminated soil. You will work in environments where hazardous materials are present, which may include interior or exterior spaces with varying conditions.
Your day-to-day involves assisting with demolition and deconstruction, maintaining tools and sampling equipment, and keeping the site clean and neat. You will perform daily equipment checks, load and unload scrap materials, and operate equipment safely in strict accordance with departmental safety procedures. A key part of your responsibility is maintaining constant situational awareness and reporting any unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately. This position requires a willingness to travel and the ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirators, for extended periods.
