Training and Development
If you do not have previous experience, Mercy provides a required 175-hour training program that meets the state of practice Department of Health and Senior Services requirements. This program is completed as part of the new hire orientation process and must be finished within 90 days of hire to remain in the PCA position per state guidelines. Additionally, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within one month of hire, and completion of PCA competencies is required within three months.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. You must be prepared for prolonged standing and walking each shift, as well as the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform daily duties.
