As an essential member of the Corporate Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Advanced Prototyping team, you will contribute to the advancement of next-generation medical products and enhance the current product portfolio. This role operates within a dynamic environment where innovation in additive manufacturing is constantly evolving.
The 3D Model Finisher serves as a critical link in the prototyping workflow, providing business customers with high-quality "finished" 3D printed models and components. Your day-to-day involves transforming raw 3D prints into precise, visually aesthetic parts through post-processing techniques such as ultrasonic cleaning, sandblasting, pressure washing, hand sanding, polishing, and painting.
You will work directly with engineers to provide technical support and ensure dimensional accuracy using precision measurement devices. Beyond the physical finishing of small plastic prototypes, you will operate 3D printers for standard maintenance, setup, and print removal. Success in this role requires a proactive mindset; you are expected to take full ownership of tasks from start to finish, recognizing when the next step is needed and alerting team members to any quality issues immediately.
Candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card Holders. The position is a 12-month contract on W2, located in Research Triangle Park, NC, working 40 hours per week (8 am - 5 pm) on the 1st shift.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with their hands, has an eye for detail, and is open to exploring new finishing techniques as the technology evolves. All work is conducted in strict accordance with Good Laboratory Practices and BDT Safety and Quality Standards, requiring the proper use of safety equipment and PPE.
