Communication is the pulse of Army National Guard units, and the Signal Support Systems Specialist ensures that information keeps flowing so the military doesn't miss a beat. This role is designed for those with an interest in working with electronic equipment and problem-solving, offering a unique opportunity to integrate signal systems and networks while performing unit-level maintenance on authorized equipment.
Through comprehensive training, you will develop the skills and experience necessary to enjoy a civilian career with companies that produce communications and electronic equipment. The training path includes 10 weeks of Basic Training to learn basic Soldiering skills, followed by 18 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) featuring a combination of hands-on and classroom instruction. With additional study and two years of electronics experience, you may also qualify for certification as an Associate Certified Electronics Technician.
Instead of paying to learn these skills, you get paid to learn. In the Army National Guard, you will acquire valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Advanced team members in this field supervise and train other Soldiers, provide technical assistance for automation and communications equipment, and operate assigned vehicles.
This position requires military enlistment in the Army National Guard. Programs and benefits are subject to change. For the most up-to-date information regarding MOS availability and specific requirements, please contact an Army National Guard recruiter.
