RBC Capital Markets is a premier investment bank providing a focused set of products and services to corporations, institutional investors, and governments globally. With over 7,100 professionals operating out of 70 offices across North America, the U.K., Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region, we consistently rank among the largest global investment banks. As part of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), one of the top 15 largest banks in the world, we leverage a strong capital base and consistent financial performance to deliver trusted advice.
The Municipal Finance Department within RBC Capital Markets provides investment banking solutions to states, cities, counties, universities, nonprofits, utilities, hospitals, and airports. We are consistently ranked in the top 5 underwriters of municipal debt, serving the largest clients in the industry.
Each year, we invite high-performing rising seniors to join our Municipal Finance platform for a 10-week U.S. Summer Analyst Program. This program offers a realistic view of municipal finance, allowing analysts to work on a variety of transactions and development initiatives across all areas of the department. Participants will build a strong foundation in financial problem-solving, negotiation, and execution, while gaining experience in marketing the firm's products and services.
As a Municipal Finance Summer Analyst, you will provide analytical, research, and transactional support to investment bankers regarding the structuring and issuance of municipal bonds and related financial advisory services. Your time will be spent preparing cash flow projections and financial analyses for capital markets transactions, gathering and organizing data for client proposals and offering statements, and assisting in the preparation of financing alternatives for prospective clients. You will also help enhance the department's knowledge of municipal capital markets by maintaining marketing materials and coordinate internal and external activities related to the pricing and settlement of debt transactions.
