About the Department

The Kinesiology Department at Sacramento State seeks qualified candidates for a part-time lecturer pool. We teach a diverse range of courses spanning activity-based instruction (such as swimming, dance, and team sports), lecture-based theory (including exercise physiology and sport psychology), pedagogy, coaching ethics, and lab-based sciences. About the Role

As a part-time lecturer, you will serve as instructional faculty with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Your primary duties include instruction, class preparation, grading, and holding office hours. You may also be assigned other departmental needs as required.

This role exists to fill instructional gaps created by changing enrollment patterns, tenure-track faculty assignments, and other dynamic factors. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, though academic year appointments are occasionally made. Appointments are often made just prior to the start of the semester and may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance.

Hiring Process & Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of five years of related professional experience. A Doctorate and/or prior teaching experience are preferred.

• Work Location: Per CSU-wide policy, all faculty beginning initial employment on or after January 1, 2022, must perform their work from within the State of California.
• Visa Sponsorship: California State University, Sacramento is not a sponsoring agent for non-tenure track (temporary/lecturer) faculty for H1-B Visas.
• Background Check: A satisfactory background check (including criminal records) is required before any offer can be made.
