The Kinesiology Department at Sacramento State seeks qualified candidates for a part-time lecturer pool. We teach a diverse range of courses spanning activity-based instruction (such as swimming, dance, and team sports), lecture-based theory (including exercise physiology and sport psychology), pedagogy, coaching ethics, and lab-based sciences. Our mission is to transform lives by preparing students to lead, serve, and succeed through a commitment to learning, diversity, and community engagement.
As a part-time lecturer, you will serve as instructional faculty with conditional appointments based on enrollment and budget. Your primary duties include instruction, class preparation, grading, and holding office hours. You may also be assigned other departmental needs as required.
This role exists to fill instructional gaps created by changing enrollment patterns, tenure-track faculty assignments, and other dynamic factors. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, though academic year appointments are occasionally made. Appointments are often made just prior to the start of the semester and may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance.
Located in the heart of California's capital city, Sacramento State sits on a lush 300-acre campus along the American River.
