The 1st Shift Slitter/Rewinder is the backbone of our Springfield, TN production line, responsible for the precise setup and operation of designated machinery. This role exists to ensure the highest quality of product output while maintaining a safe and efficient workflow. You will not only operate the equipment but also play a key mentorship role by training new employees on best practices and machine protocols.
Your day involves a dynamic mix of technical operation and quality assurance. You will interpret job jackets and orders to set up specific plates and materials, ensuring every roll meets strict color and dimension standards. From managing line clearances to maintaining a spotless rewind area, your attention to detail directly impacts our production success. You will be expected to communicate effectively with supervisors and the oncoming shift, ensuring a seamless handover and continuous operation.
Safety is our top priority. As an operator, you are responsible for adhering to all required safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE, ergonomics, and chemical hazard protocols. You must maintain a high level of alertness to react quickly to moving machinery, ensuring the well-being of yourself and your colleagues. This includes distinguishing odors for material identification and fire safety, as well as hearing warning signals to coordinate with the team.
