About the Role
We are seeking a talented and experienced Zoning/Code Enforcement Officer to join our team of professionals in Chikaming Township, MI. This position offers a great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of assignments. You will be a member of a highly respected team with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.
In this role, you will enforce zoning ordinances and investigate allegations of violations regarding municipal, land development, and property maintenance codes. Your day will involve determining the validity of complaints, notifying parties of issues through various channels, and preparing detailed records and reports on abatements, court actions, and daily activities. You will also assist in reviewing building permits, preparing zoning verification letters, and interpreting planning procedures for the general public. The role requires a blend of office and field work, including conducting inspections in various weather conditions and attending zoning board hearings and planning commission meetings.
