Founded in 1876, The Boys’ Club of New York (BCNY) is a youth development organization with the mission to empower boys and young men, ages 7 to 21, by providing effective programs and a supportive community. BCNY provides evidence-based programs to address the evolving social, emotional, health, creative, educational, and vocational needs of our members in meaningful, lasting ways. We strive to continually deepen and broaden our impact by cultivating positive qualities in our members.
The Youth Program Specialist is a pivotal role focused on enhancing the social and emotional development of boys ages 7–12 while providing resources for academic development. Working closely with the Youth Director and Clubhouse staff, you will co-lead workshops, assist in the creation and management of all programs, and actively participate in weekend camping sessions and off-site programs.
In this position, you will serve as a mentor and resource for members, acting as an advocate and referral source as young men explore their educational paths. You will help structure an environment that provides necessary academic and emotional support, while also conducting outreach to local schools and youth development programs. Your work will directly influence future program development through feedback and the creation of new activities.
Candidates must be available for mandatory training in June. As a COVID-19 proactive organization, BCNY makes every effort to create and maintain a safe environment for our members and staff. While frontline employees are not required to be fully vaccinated, the organization strongly encourages all employees to be vaccinated and obtain a booster shot.
