The Middle School World Language Teacher (Spanish/French) reports directly to the Principal and works closely with all school personnel to provide a safe, equitable, and culturally responsive learning environment with high expectations for all students. This role is designed to create a welcoming classroom where students can comfortably share their authentic selves.
In this position, you will teach to the World Language curriculum, collaborating with a team to maintain a strong school program that incorporates both state and district frameworks. You will implement a variety of effective instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction for diverse learners, to create rigorous, standards-based units of instruction aligned with grade-level standards. The role involves regularly assessing student abilities to design strategies that enhance learning, diagnosing progress through timely assessments, and providing necessary progress reports. Additionally, you will work with small groups of struggling learners, modify instruction as needed, and refer students for alternative services as provided by the District.
Beyond the classroom, you will serve on school-wide committees, collaborate with colleagues, and help organize school-wide events. You are expected to remain current by participating in ongoing professional development activities, both within and out-of-district, such as those focused on instructional technology.
Salary placement is determined in accordance with years of experience and level of education, as outlined in the Agreement Between The Woburn Teachers' Association and The Woburn School Committee.
