About the Role
The Workday Extend & Integrations Developer is a hands-on architect of our internal ecosystem. You will design, build, and maintain custom applications that automate critical business processes across HR, Finance, Payroll, and Operations. This role is not just about coding; it is about translating complex operational requirements into elegant, scalable solutions that directly impact the care of thousands of patients.
In this position, you will own the design and management of integrations between Workday and external systems, ensuring data integrity and reliability. You will partner with functional leads and business stakeholders to identify process improvements, participate in release cycle reviews, and provide technical mentorship to junior team members. You will work within an Agile framework to deliver mission-critical platforms that shape the future of healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleDesign, develop, test, and deploy custom applications in Workday Extend to automate business processes
- check_circleTranslate business requirements into functional Workday Extend application specifications and solutions
- check_circleBuild intuitive user interfaces using custom business objects, calculated fields, and orchestrations
- check_circleDesign and build integrations between Workday and external systems using Workday Studio and APIs
- check_circleMonitor, troubleshoot, and maintain existing integrations to ensure data integrity and reliability
- check_circleCollaborate with functional leads and stakeholders to identify process improvement opportunities
- check_circleProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members on Workday development capabilities
- check_circleContribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and project delivery within an Agile framework
Requirements
- verified3+ years of hands-on Workday development experience
- verifiedExperience with Workday Extend (App Builder, custom objects, orchestrations)
- verifiedExperience building Workday integrations (Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, REST APIs, SOAP)
- verifiedProficiency in Workday Report Writer and calculated fields
- verifiedSolid understanding of HR, Payroll, or Finance business processes
- verifiedWorkday Extend certification or Workday Pro certification preferred
- verifiedExperience in healthcare or HIPAA compliance awareness preferred
- verifiedExperience with REST/JSON API design outside of Workday preferred
- verifiedExposure to Python or similar scripting languages preferred
Nice to Have
Workday Extend certification or Workday Pro certification in one or more modules (HCM, Financials, Payroll, etc.). Experience in a healthcare or highly regulated industry (HIPAA compliance awareness is a strong plus). Experience with REST/JSON API design and consumption outside of Workday. Exposure to scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python) for data transformation or automation tasks. Familiarity with Prism Analytics.
