The Wind Technician is a critical and active role designed to maintain optimal function and output at wind sites. This position involves daily work on turbine operations, safety protocols, quality control, and warranty repairs. The technician partners and communicates closely with the Site Lead and Manager to execute contract requirements and timelines, ensuring alignment with GE excellence.
The role requires local travel within the hub and involves working with site and hub leadership to execute contractual obligations. Technicians will troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch and variable speed turbines, perform maintenance and repairs, and document all work using computer-based service reporting procedures. The position also requires responding to GE’s remote operations center when necessary.

Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in Energy preferred or equivalent experience; Bachelor's Degree in Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field desired.
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited college or university. Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field. Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the Wind Farm. Wind turbine experience. Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience. Experience using hydraulic power tools. Experience with heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.
