As an Engineering & Facilities team member at the JW Marriott New Orleans, you play a vital role in keeping the promise of "Wonderful Hospitality. Always." by maintaining the physical plant and ensuring the comfort of our guests. You will be responsible for repairing miscellaneous gas, electric, and steam appliances, as well as maintaining HVAC, air quality control, and refrigeration equipment.
Your day will involve reading, logging, and interpreting readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring devices. You will monitor and inspect boiler equipment, valves, and gauges, while also testing and treating closed-loop systems to promote efficient operation and prevent corrosion. Additionally, you will inspect cooling tower systems to provide balanced water and prevent biological growth, and diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems and components.
Beyond technical duties, you will welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs. You will develop and maintain positive working relationships with your team, support colleagues in reaching common goals, and identify new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, and safety. You will adhere to all company, safety, and security policies, ensuring a safe environment for both associates and guests.
