This position serves as a vital link in the operations of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of merchandise, supplies, and related items to various departments and gift shops. The role is designed to maintain an organized warehouse environment while supporting the center's mission through efficient logistics and inventory management.
You will spend your day balancing warehouse organization with active delivery duties. Your work involves pulling supplies, brochures, and merchandise, then transporting them to internal departments or external locations. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to stocking materials in a way that optimizes space and conducting periodic inventory counts to ensure accuracy.
The environment is dynamic and active. You will work both inside a warehouse that can be dusty, noisy, and subject to temperature changes, and outside delivering items in various weather conditions. The role requires physical stamina, including lifting items up to 100 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, and operating company vehicles and forklifts. Communication with supervisors, employees, and vendors is a key part of the daily workflow.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. The role requires a valid driver's license with a good driving record, and applicants must be at least 21 years of age to operate company vehicles. A high school diploma or G.E.D. is required, along with 6-12 months of experience in an inventory environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
