Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream, from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. At our Morton Distribution Center, PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution.
About the Role
This part-time role on Saturday and Sunday shifts (6:00 am – 4:00 pm) is designed for individuals who bring a strong work ethic, a commitment to quality, and an eagerness to learn. In this position, you will help our customers do work that matters by safely performing material handling and warehousing processes. Your day will involve receiving, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping parts, materials, equipment, and supplies. You will utilize handheld scanners to update information and may be trained to operate order pickers, reach trucks, sit-down forklifts, and overhead hoists. Additionally, you will use pneumatic and power tools to construct wooden shipping containers and apply paint and rust preventative. This role requires a collaborative team mentality, adaptability to changing temperatures, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and safety are paramount.
Hiring Process
All eligible candidates must pass pre-employment screenings before being hired. These include a background screening, drug screening, and a Post-Offer Medical Questionnaire for clearance from Corporate Medical. Candidates must also complete the LIFT Test, a 30-minute assessment that includes a grip test (left and right hand) and a job simulation involving transferring Caterpillar parts bins (up to 35 lbs) with repetitive motion. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a drug screen.
