Wall Panel Designer

About the Role

The Wall Panel Designer serves as a critical bridge between architectural vision and manufacturing reality. In this position, you will translate complex architectural and structural drawings into precise wall panel layouts and component designs. Your work ensures that every detail—from structural applications to building code compliance—is accurately incorporated into the final product.

You will be the primary point of contact for both internal teams and external customers, communicating daily to verify that critical information is correctly reflected in all designs. This role requires a balance of technical precision and collaborative problem-solving, as you will frequently confer with Engineering, Production, and Sales to evaluate design concepts and refine layouts to meet customer specifications, production limitations, and evolving building plans.

The Day-to-Day

Your workflow centers on utilizing engineering and design software to create detailed wall panel layouts. You will interpret blueprints and architectural drawings to develop component documents that drive plant work orders. Efficiency is key; you will be expected to plan and pace your own work to meet daily, weekly, and project-specific productivity goals while adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.

Success in this role demands a strong foundation in construction and building products, allowing you to determine appropriate structural applications. You will apply your math and measurement skills to ensure accuracy, while leveraging your proficiency in CAD applications and Microsoft Office to manage documentation and communication effectively.

Application Instructions

Candidates should highlight their experience with wall panel components and any exposure to ITW systems. While a 2-4 year engineering degree and CAD/Revit experience are preferred, practical experience and a demonstrated ability to read blueprints are the primary drivers for consideration.
