Job Overview
The Vice President of Corporate Banking - Deposits (Not-for-Profits) plays a pivotal role in driving deposit growth and managing client relationships within the Corporate Banking division. This position focuses on building a robust portfolio of Corporate Banking clients, with a specific emphasis on deposit relationships and identifying cross-selling opportunities for other Kearny Bank financial products. The ideal candidate will deliver tailored financial solutions that enhance revenue and client satisfaction, targeting organizations with annual revenues typically between $5 million and $25 million, including small to mid-sized businesses and nonprofit entities.
This role requires close collaboration with Executive Leadership, Marketing, Retail Banking, Treasury Management, Commercial Lending, and Digital Banking teams to ensure sustainable deposit growth that aligns with the Bank’s mission and community values. The VP will support Not-for-Profit (NFP) clients by providing secure and efficient deposit solutions for managing donations, grants, and operational funds. Key responsibilities include helping NFPs automate collections, track expenditures, ensure compliance with financial reporting, and implement fraud protection measures to optimize cash flow and simplify financial oversight.
Location and Territory
- Territory: Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, including New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
- Work Arrangement: Fully remote. The employee must reside within the designated territory and work from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Deposit Growth Leadership: Lead initiatives to expand Corporate deposit balances by identifying client needs, structuring competitive deposit solutions, and building a book of business focused on deposits while maintaining high client satisfaction.
- Portfolio Management: Develop and maintain a portfolio of Corporate Clients, ensuring their deposit and banking needs are met with high-quality service and strategic financial advice.
- Client Relationship Building: Establish strong relationships with new clients, focusing on deposit acquisition, retention, and expansion. Act as a trusted advisor by deeply understanding client businesses and offering relevant banking solutions.
- Cross-Selling and Collaboration: Promote the full suite of bank products. Collaborate with executive leadership, marketing, retail banking, treasury management, commercial lending, and digital banking to refer opportunities and enhance client value.
- Market Intelligence: Stay current on industry trends, competitor strategies, and regulatory changes affecting deposit products. Provide insights and feedback to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Risk Monitoring: Monitor client accounts for potential risks, including deposit volatility or signs of financial distress, and recommend appropriate actions to protect the bank's interests.
- Strategic Contribution: Contribute to the formulation of deposit growth strategies by leveraging market knowledge, competitor analysis, and innovative product structuring.
- Project Leadership: Lead or participate in ad hoc projects related to Corporate Clients and deposit initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of proven sales experience, preferably within a financial services environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience generating deposits with clients whose annual revenues range from a minimum of $5 million to well over $25 million, encompassing small to mid-sized enterprises and nonprofit organizations, is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Experience with deposit pricing strategies and liquidity management is preferred. Familiarity with treasury management solutions is also preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative mindset with a desire to build strong internal and external partnerships. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills are essential.
- Technical Proficiency: MS Office proficiency is required.
Working Conditions and Logistics
- Remote Work: This is a fully remote role.
- Travel: The position involves frequent travel to client sites, corporate offices, and industry/community events.
- Physical Demands: Regular attendance and punctuality are essential. The role involves routine office tasks such as typing, taking notes, reading/reviewing documents, computer work, filing, copying, and answering phones. These tasks may require viewing, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or lifting.

Compensation
- Salary Range: $110,000 to $175,000 annually.
- Note: Actual compensation may vary depending on location, experience, and other relevant factors.
