Music Kids is an instrumental education program dedicated to enriching student development by bringing musical instrument education into local school environments. We currently serve thousands of students across over 40 active partner schools in ten states plus the District of Columbia, including DC, MD, IL, MA, NY, CT, and PA.
Our mission is to make music accessible to young learners through small group classes, fostering a love for music while supporting the primary education system.
We are seeking enthusiastic educators to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year as Music Kids Faculty Members. This role is designed for two types of candidates: music teachers looking to expand their horizons and classroom teachers eager to pivot their careers back into music.
As a Faculty Member, you will teach beginning-level violin, piano, and guitar in small groups of 3-4 students. While the ability to teach all three instruments is strongly preferred, it is not required to apply. We provide curriculum resources and assistance to help you learn the basics of beginner-level teaching for all three instruments.
The position involves a blend of in-school teaching and out-of-school program management. Your day will include leading student performances, communicating with parents, planning lessons, and supporting students through virtual learning. You will also play a key role in promoting the program and driving enrollment at partner school events, particularly during the August/September registration period.
This is an ideal opportunity for those passionate about making a direct impact on primary education. You will work independently to represent the organization while collaborating with senior resident Faculty Members and office staff for professional development.
To apply, candidates must reside in and be legally qualified to work in the United States and must submit to customary background checks. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, organized, and comfortable working with digital tools to manage activities.
Please note that a valid driver's license and access to a car are required to commute to our partner schools.
Music Kids is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
