About the Team
Sideshow's Media Team is dedicated to creating high-impact visual content for a passionate community of collectors. We produce a diverse range of videos featuring complex effects, from the Spider-Man Hot Toys Collection to Marvel Designer Toys and Street Fighter Collections. Our mission is to combine killer graphics with a keen eye for design and timing, while leveraging technological foresight to streamline production and push the boundaries of what our videos can achieve.
About the Role
As a Motion Graphics Artist & Editor, you will be the creative force behind our video projects. You are expected to handle After Effects like a pro, functioning effectively both as a collaborative team member and as an independent contributor. The role requires a strong sense of design, composition, and timing, along with the ability to take constructive criticism and iterate on cuts until they meet our high standards.
You will need to bring social media experience to the table, understanding what type of content engages audiences effectively and has the potential to go viral. While geeky interests are a plus, your primary focus will be on delivering professional-grade work in a creative environment. You will be expected to master popular After Effects plugins (such as Trapcode Suite, Element 3D, and Optical Flares) and possess basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and 3D software like Maya, Cinema 4D, or Blender.
Hiring Process
To be considered for this full-time position at our Thousand Oaks Studio, applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, and a demo reel. Please note that a demo reel is mandatory; applications without one will be automatically rejected. Selected candidates will undergo a paid graphics test to demonstrate their skills. Additionally, successful applicants will be subject to background, credit, and security checks. References are preferred.
