About the Role

For those who want to put their love of pets into action, there are few jobs more rewarding than that of a Veterinary Assistant at Banfield Pet Hospital. As a key member of the hospital team, you will support and assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients, and associates while maintaining the continuity of quality veterinary care.

In this role, you will advocate for pets and educate clients on all aspects of pet health. You will provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service, making sure that clients and pets feel comfortable in the hospital environment. Your day-to-day work involves using technical skills within state practice acts and NAVTA guidelines to help maintain patient flow, communicate effectively with the veterinary team, and set up procedures that do not require direct veterinarian or vet tech assistance.

Beyond clinical duties, you will play a vital role in educating clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and the importance of preventive care. You will also have the opportunity to mentor other members of the hospital team, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and shared success.

Our Culture and Principles

We are looking for Vet Assistants who are dedicated to their work, maintain a positive attitude, and use our Five Principles—Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom—as their guide. We value associates who are action-oriented, customer-focused, good listeners, effective communicators, and caring.

We have created a one-of-a-kind leadership structure throughout our practice that includes support from Corporate headquarters, the field, and the hospital level. Together, we are a team making a real impact on pet health care in hospitals, communities, and the field of veterinary medicine.

Career Growth and Development

We offer performance development plans designed to help you reach your established career goals, relevant learning opportunities, networking events, and ways to offer your skills to your community. If your goal is to advance in your career, you will have access to a variety of learning and development opportunities along the way.

Application Instructions
