For those who want to put their love of pets into action, there are few jobs more rewarding than that of a Veterinary Assistant at Banfield Pet Hospital. In this role, you will work closely with other pet health care professionals to advocate for pets and educate clients on all aspects of pet health. As a key member of the hospital team, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients, and associates while maintaining the continuity of quality veterinary care.
You will provide professional, efficient, and exceptional service, ensuring that clients and pets feel comfortable in the hospital. Your daily work involves using technical skills within state practice acts and NAVTA guidelines to help maintain patient flow, communicate effectively with the veterinary team, and set up procedures. You will also adhere to hospital standards to keep treatment areas clean and organized, educate clients on the importance of preventive care and Optimum Wellness Plans®, and mentor other members of the hospital team.
Every associate makes an important contribution to the veterinary team. We look for Vet Assistants who are dedicated, have a positive attitude, and use our Five Principles—Quality, Responsibility, Mutuality, Efficiency, and Freedom—as their guide. We value associates who are action-oriented, customer-focused, good listeners, and effective communicators.
