About the Role
We are actively seeking a reliable independent contractor to perform residential mortgage inspections in Finney County, Kansas, and surrounding communities. This role is ideal for those living in or near Garden City who are looking to earn supplemental or full-time income on their own schedule.
As a Field Inspector, you will perform residential occupancy verifications. These are brief, exterior visits designed to confirm property status and report on general conditions. The workflow is built for efficiency, with standard inspections typically requiring only 5–6 minutes on-site. You will manage your own routing, schedule, and territory, enjoying stable, month-to-month volume in your assigned county.
Your day will involve spending extended periods of time driving and making numerous stops throughout your assigned territory. This area includes a mix of suburban neighborhoods and rural stretches, offering variety in your daily route with a balance of quick stops and scenic drives. You will determine property occupancy status based on industry-standard indicators, capture 9+ photos, and submit brief reports using mobile applications.

Compensation & Territory Details
This is a 1099 independent contractor position paid a flat rate for every inspection completed. While rates and volume vary by county, Finney County averages approximately 5 inspections per month. Efficient contractors in this territory typically earn the equivalent of $25–$35 per hour.
