The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is growing rapidly, anchored in New York's historic capital city. As the centerpiece of medicine, research, and medical education in the Capital Region, the department is home to 14 highly collaborative urology faculty members. The department supports an outstanding urology residency program with fellowship-trained faculty in every subspecialty and maintains regular, highly rated student interactions.
Albany Medical Center, the area's largest private employer with over 10,000 employees, serves more than three million people across 25 counties as part of the Albany Med Health System. The downtown campus offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient care, including the region's only Level 1 adult and pediatric trauma centers and the only children's hospital.
You will join an established team of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) specialists, supported by dedicated advanced practice providers, strong nursing, and administrative staff. Your practice will be fully supported in all other aspects of Urology, allowing you to focus on your specialty with an interest in scholarly activity.
The role offers a collaborative environment with access to world-class facilities, including an in-office ultrasound, fluoro-urodynamics, cystoscopy, MR prostate biopsy, and a laboratory technician. You will work within a multidisciplinary framework, collaborating with pain management, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, colorectal surgery, GI, PMR, and pelvic floor physical therapy. The department features a world-class pelvic pain clinic and is immediately adjacent to an outpatient surgery center in the same building.
Scholarly activity is a core component of this position. The department facilitates multiple opportunities for clinical and basic research, supported by four in-house clinical research staff who assist with the IRB process and research-participant interactions. You will also have the opportunity to support student and resident research rotations.
