The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is growing rapidly. Anchored in New York's historic capital city, the department is part of Albany Medical Center, the centerpiece of medicine, research, and medical education in the Capital Region. As the area's largest private employer with over 10,000 employees, the center serves more than three million people across 25 counties through the Albany Med Health System.
The department features 14 highly collaborative urology faculty members, including fellowship-trained faculty in every urologic subspecialty. It is home to an outstanding urology residency program with three residents per year and highly decorated graduates. The department also maintains regular student interactions, with rotations that are highly rated and valued by students.
You will join established URPS specialist MDs alongside a team of dedicated advanced practice providers, strong nursing, and administrative support. The department fosters a multidisciplinary approach with collaborations spanning pain management, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, colorectal surgery, GI, PMR, and pelvic floor physical therapy.
The department offers world-class facilities, including an in-office ultrasound, fluoro-urodynamics, cystoscopy, MR prostate biopsy, and a laboratory technician. The clinic is immediately adjacent to an outpatient surgery center in the same building, ensuring excellent clinical facilities with easy patient access and free parking. The department also hosts a world-class pelvic pain clinic in collaboration with Neurology and MIS Gynecology.
Scholarly activity is a core component of the role. The department provides multiple opportunities for clinical and basic research, facilitated by four in-house clinical research staff who support the IRB process and research-participant interactions. There are also supported student and resident research rotations.
We are recruiting physicians in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) with a strong interest in scholarly activity. Your practice will be fully supported in all other aspects of Urology. This role offers the chance to work within an accredited URPS fellowship program and participate in multidisciplinary urogynecology education and clinics.
