The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is growing rapidly, anchored in New York's historic capital city. As the centerpiece of medicine, research, and medical education in the Capital Region, the department is home to 14 highly collaborative urology faculty members. The department supports an outstanding urology residency program with fellowship-trained faculty in every subspecialty, alongside a robust academic mission that values regular student interactions and highly rated rotations.
We are recruiting physicians in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) with a strong interest in scholarly activity. You will join established URPS specialists and a dedicated team of advanced practice providers, supported by strong nursing and administrative staff. Your practice will be fully supported in all other aspects of Urology.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environment. Collaborations span pain management, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, colorectal surgery, GI, PMR, and pelvic floor physical therapy. The department features a world-class pelvic pain clinic in partnership with Neurology and MIS Gynecology, as well as an accredited URPS fellowship program.
You will practice in excellent clinical facilities designed for easy patient access and free parking. The department is immediately adjacent to an outpatient surgery center within the same building. Clinical capabilities include in-office ultrasound, fluoro-urodynamics, cystoscopy, MR prostate biopsy, and an on-site laboratory technician. The environment fosters research through four in-house clinical research staff members who facilitate the IRB process and manage research-participant interactions, supporting both clinical and basic research as well as student and resident rotations.
