The Department of Urology at Albany Medical College is growing rapidly, anchored in New York's historic capital city. As the centerpiece of medicine, research, and medical education in the Capital Region, the department is home to 14 highly collaborative urology faculty members. The department supports an outstanding urology residency program with fellowship-trained faculty in every subspecialty and maintains a world-class pelvic pain clinic in collaboration with Neurology and Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Gynecology.
We are recruiting physicians in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) with a strong interest in scholarly activity. You will join established URPS specialists and a dedicated team of advanced practice providers, nursing, and administrative support. Your practice will be fully supported in all other aspects of Urology.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environment featuring collaborations with pain management, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, colorectal surgery, GI, PMR, and pelvic floor physical therapy. The department boasts an accredited URPS fellowship and provides excellent clinical facilities with immediate access to an outpatient surgery center in the same building. You will have access to in-office ultrasound, fluoro-urodynamics, cystoscopy, MR prostate biopsy, and a dedicated laboratory technician.
Scholarly activity is a core component of this position. The department facilitates multiple opportunities for clinical and basic research, supported by four in-house clinical research staff who assist with the IRB process and participant interactions. You will also have the chance to support student and resident research rotations, engaging with highly rated and valued student interactions.
