We are seeking an experienced Middle Market Senior Underwriter to drive the underwriting of commercial property and casualty risks within the middle market segment. As an individual contributor, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, making analytical, data-driven decisions within your delegated authority with limited guidance from leadership.
Your focus will be on evaluating and pricing moderately complex to complex accounts, including those with high individual line sizes and unusual exposures across parts of North America. Beyond risk assessment, you will play a pivotal role in managing broker and client relationships, acting as a visible representative of Liberty Mutual in the market. You will also help shape product and portfolio strategy for your line of business, engaging with internal partners such as Claims, Actuarial, Risk Control, and Legal to structure appropriate terms and risk mitigation plans.
This role offers the opportunity to mentor and coach junior underwriters and new hires, sharing expertise on middle market underwriting practices and Liberty processes. You will be expected to develop targeted broker strategies to source profitable business and expand market share while maintaining a portfolio of producing brokers and agents.
To be considered for this role, candidates must reside within the specified geographic location. This position requires regular in-person visits with local brokers and agents; therefore, remote hires outside the designated territory cannot be accommodated.
