The Underground Mining Engineer serves as a pivotal architect of our extraction strategy, responsible for the planning, design, optimization, and safe execution of underground mining operations. This role exists to ensure the productive, cost-effective, and compliant extraction of ore while upholding the highest standards of safety, ground control, and environmental stewardship.
In this position, you will bridge the gap between technical feasibility and operational reality. Your day-to-day involves designing and optimizing mine layouts, from development and stoping to infrastructure planning, while preparing short- and long-term schedules and production forecasts. You will develop mine development and production cycles from first principles, supporting critical systems like drilling, blasting, ventilation, and haulage. Beyond technical design, you will monitor production performance to drive continuous improvement, collaborate closely with geology, operations, maintenance, and safety teams, and provide technical guidance to operations personnel and junior engineers.
Candidates interested in this role should submit their resume and a cover letter detailing their experience with underground mine planning and safety compliance. Please ensure your application highlights specific projects where you have successfully balanced production goals with rigorous safety and environmental standards.
