Key Responsibilities
- check_circleMaintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies
- check_circleTransport patients in wheelchairs and on gurneys as needed
- check_circleOperate portable ultrasound and EKG equipment safely
- check_circleProduce high-quality diagnostic ultrasound images for physician interpretation
- check_circleConsult with physicians and radiologists regarding patient cases
- check_circleMaintain radiology images and ensure reports reach ordering physicians
- check_circleAdhere to ALARA principles and all department safety regulations
- check_circleStay current with new ultrasound procedures, equipment, and methods
- check_circleManage procurement, storage, and utilization of departmental supplies
- check_circleParticipate in scheduled evening, night, weekend, and holiday calls
Requirements
- verifiedGraduated from a Diagnostic Medical Sonography Certification Program or accredited radiology program
- verifiedRegistered ARDMS sonographer planning to become certified in the immediate future (if began ultrasound prior to 2000)
- verifiedKnowledge of state and federal confidentiality laws including HIPAA
