About the Role
A Trust Officer is a banking professional dedicated to servicing trusts and investments. This is a relationship-based role where the scope of service often spans multiple generations of clients. The position supports both private and corporate trust accounts, requiring a deep understanding of state and federal statutes governing trust administration.
The Trust Officer acts as a central point of contact, collaborating with advisors, internal trust teams, attorneys, accountants, and family members. The role involves ongoing account reviews, discretionary distribution reviews, and assisting in the interpretation and execution of actions as advised by governing documents such as Wills, Trusts, Codicils, Amendments, and Contracts. Additionally, the officer plays a key role in estate settlements, ensuring timely and accurate dispositive provisions, final expense payments, and tax return preparations.
Beyond daily administration, the Trust Officer serves as a subject matter authority on projects such as IRA development, system conversions, and team process improvements.
