The Tractor Trailer Driver position is designed to transport, deliver, and retrieve assorted construction and heavy equipment in a professional, safe, and timely manner. This role is critical to supporting branch operations and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will operate both commercial and non-commercial vehicles, mastering operating standards at the facility, regional, and corporate levels.
In this position, you will be the face of Herc Rentals at customer job sites. Your day involves maneuvering large vehicles through diverse conditions—including heavy traffic, inclement weather, mountainous terrain, and tight loading docks—while strictly adhering to DOT policies for securing loads. Beyond driving, you will maintain open communication with dispatch, ensure accurate paperwork and logs, and provide training assistance to customers regarding the safe operation of vehicles and machinery. Flexibility is key, as you will adapt to management responses to customer demands and promptly report any delays, damage, or accidents.
