NURSE's Etc. Staffing is seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN for a Med Surg position in Des Moines, Iowa. This 13-week assignment begins on June 22, 2026, offering a dynamic environment for experienced professionals ready to make an immediate impact.

Role Context

This position focuses on the critical care of patients within the Oncology and Med Surg disciplines. Due to the nature of the unit, the role requires floating between departments, necessitating a strong foundation in both specialties. The schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts per week, totaling 36 hours. Candidates must be prepared to manage complex patient needs, including those requiring specialized care such as Infusaport access and chemotherapy administration.

Application Requirements

To be considered for this assignment, candidates must submit a complete profile including a resume detailing at least 24 months of current Oncology or Med Surg experience. A specific Skills Checklist aligned with these disciplines is required. Additionally, applicants must hold an active Iowa (IA) license or a Multistate license via Nursys, a valid driver's license, and current BLS certification from the AHA or ARC.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for experienced travelers who have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 12 months. First-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment. Ideal candidates will possess 12 months of recent Oncology experience in a hospital setting and have familiarity with EPIC EMR systems. While a CHEMO/ONS/ONCC certificate is a plus, recent hands-on chemo experience is highly preferred.
