This travel assignment places a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in an outpatient imaging setting within a community hospital in Massena, New York. The position focuses on delivering ultrasound studies across a diverse patient population, ranging from pediatric to geriatric. You will perform examinations including OB (first through third trimester), abdominal, vascular (DVT and carotid), and breast imaging, while assisting with ultrasound-guided procedures such as thoracentesis and paracentesis.
The role requires floating to various outpatient areas as needed and participating in a call schedule. You will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients, ensuring their comfort, and operating ultrasound equipment while maintaining strict safety and infection-control standards. Documentation of findings in the electronic health record and communication of preliminary results to radiologists or referring clinicians are key daily responsibilities.
