Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProvide direct patient care in a 16-bed Cardiovascular ICU at a 2:1 or 1:1 patient ratio
- check_circleTitrate vesicant medications and manage pressors, sedation, and paralytics in a high-acuity environment
- check_circleManage and monitor patients on mechanical ventilation, tracheostomies, and telemetry
- check_circleInterpret hemodynamic data and assist with PA catheter setup and maintenance
- check_circleAssist with and maintain proficiency in unit procedures including cardioversion and chest tube maintenance
- check_circleOperate and monitor specialized equipment including ventilators, IABP, CRRT, and Impella devices
- check_circleDocument all patient care accurately using the Cerner electronic health record system
- check_circleFloat to other areas of the facility per traveler float policy when required
Requirements
- verifiedActive Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in North Carolina or compact state eligibility
- verifiedMinimum 2 years of ICU experience
- verifiedProficiency in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics
- verifiedExperience with mechanical ventilation and tracheostomy management
- verifiedCompetency in telemetry interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and PA catheter setup
- verifiedFamiliarity with transvenous pacing and cardioversion procedures
Nice to Have
Experience with IABP, Impella, and/or CRRT. CCRN certification. IABP and Impella certifications. Prior experience with TEE and chest tube insertions and maintenance. Familiarity with Cerner documentation system.
