About the Position
This Registered Nurse opportunity is based at Tristar Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, TN, located at 391 Wallace Road. The role focuses on the Medical-Surgical unit on the 3rd Floor of Building A, a 25-bed unit dedicated to providing comprehensive patient care.
The team operates with a focus on patient experience, utilizing tools such as BSSR and hourly rounding to ensure high-quality interactions. The unit is equipped with modern technology including Sara Steady, Wound Vac, Tele Health, Virtual Sitter equipment, and remote telemetry, alongside the Meditech documentation system. Staffing includes unit secretaries and 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) per shift, with patient ratios ranging from 5-6:1 during the day to 6:1 at night.
About the Role
You will provide direct nursing care to patients on a busy Medical-Surgical floor, performing essential procedures such as IV and Foley catheter placement. Success in this role requires strong assessment skills and proficiency with IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing cabinets. While the schedule is primarily days (3 days x 12 hours), flexibility is required for every other weekend coverage. As a PRN nurse, you may be asked to float between Medical-Surgical units to support fluctuating patient needs.
