Cynet Health is seeking a Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department in Brooklyn, NY. This 13-month contract role is designed for a leader who can assume 24-hour responsibility for the overall assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care within the ER.
The Nurse Manager will oversee and direct the emergency department, ensuring accountability for planning, leading, and evaluating nursing care. A core part of this role is fostering an environment of collaboration and respect among all healthcare team members. The position requires weekend and holiday coverage, with shifts running from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
In this role, you will drive operational performance by developing long-term unit staffing schedules and monitoring key metrics such as agency costs, vacancy rates, and turnover. You will oversee daily workflow, staffing, and the orientation and development of employees. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to quality and performance improvement processes, ensuring the department maintains high standards of care.
You will also manage human resources by educating and evaluating staff, conducting monthly meetings to address various topics, and working with nursing leadership to resolve staff issues. Maintaining a departmental dashboard to track progress on key metrics and investigating complaints to resolve them effectively are daily priorities. You will collaborate with nursing leadership to establish care standards, ensure staff compliance with protocols, and promote a safe, caring environment for both patients and staff.
Candidates must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse, along with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. A Master's degree in Nursing and a minimum of five years of nursing experience in management or supervisory roles within an Emergency Department are required. Successful candidates will also need to complete onboarding requirements including Pharmacology, a Skills Checklist, and a Specialty Exam.
