TravelNurseSource is partnering with Cynet Health to recruit a Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department in Brooklyn, NY. This 13-month contract role is designed for a leader who can oversee the 24-hour assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care within a high-acuity Trauma setting.
As the Nurse Manager, you will assume full accountability for the direction and leadership of the Emergency Department. Your day-to-day involves fostering a culture of collaboration and respect among all healthcare team members while managing operational performance metrics, including staffing schedules, agency costs, and turnover rates. You will be responsible for monitoring patient volume and quality of care, maintaining a departmental dashboard, and investigating complaints to ensure effective resolution.
Beyond operations, this role requires active clinical leadership. You will collaborate with nursing leadership to establish care standards, ensure staff compliance with protocols, and maintain a safe, caring environment for both patients and staff. The position demands a tactful approach to human resource development, including staff education, performance evaluation, and the creation of an atmosphere of courtesy. Weekend and holiday coverage is also a key component of this leadership responsibility.

Candidates must possess a current Registered Professional Nurse license, a Master's degree in Nursing, and a minimum of five years of nursing experience in management or supervisory roles within an Emergency Department. Essential certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA). Additional onboarding requirements include completion of Pharmacology training, a Skills Checklist, and a Specialty Exam.
