Travel Nurse RN - Case Management

About the Role

Talent4Health is seeking a highly experienced Travel Nurse RN specializing in Case Management for a 13-week assignment at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson, Mississippi. As the only Level 1 Trauma Hospital in the state, UMMC serves a unique patient population, handling complex cases and patients with no other hospital options. This role is critical for managing acute inpatient care across all hospital units, ensuring efficient discharge planning, and coordinating with a robust social work team comprising 15 full-time and 17 part-time social workers.

In this position, you will not work alone; you will collaborate closely with the Case Management team, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy to manage a daily caseload of 15–20 patients. The role requires a professional who can hit the ground running, as training on the unit will be minimal. You will be responsible for navigating complex placements, including utilizing UMMC's contracts with five local facilities that reserve 10 beds each for complex cases, while adhering to specific criteria regarding financial assistance for uninsured or underinsured patients.

Important Requirements & Logistics

• Vaccination: A flu vaccine is required at UMMC. Only medical exemptions are allowed, which must be documented with evidence from a healthcare provider regarding a past severe reaction.
• Background Check: A fingerprint requirement is in place. The remote process must allow 10 days, or it can be completed in person at the Jackson or Grenada campus the week prior to the start date.
• Dress Code: Staff may wear scrubs of any color or business professional attire.
• Orientation: A department-specific orientation of 2 weeks will be provided, including general facility orientation.
