About the Registered Nurse Residency Program
Our Registered Nurse Residency Program is a structured, evidence-based initiative designed specifically for early-career RNs. This full-time, hospital-based role combines hands-on clinical experience with classroom learning, simulation, and ongoing mentorship. Under the guidance of experienced preceptors, clinical educators, and an interdisciplinary care team, you will gradually assume responsibility for the comprehensive care of patients across a variety of acute care and specialty units.
The program emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care that reflects Saint Luke's commitment to excellence. You will be encouraged to ask questions, seek feedback, and engage in reflective practice as you develop into a confident, independent professional nurse. What to Expect
In this role, you will participate in a comprehensive curriculum including skills labs, clinical simulations, case reviews, and dedicated transition-to-practice education. You will collaborate closely with nurse educators, unit leaders, and peers in your residency cohort. While you will provide direct patient care, the primary focus of this phase is your growth and development as a professional nurse, supported by a team committed to your success from day one.
Application and Hiring Process
We are seeking recent or upcoming graduates of an accredited nursing program with a strong interest in working in an acute care hospital setting. Candidates should be eligible for RN licensure in the state of Missouri prior to the program start. Successful residents are eager to learn, demonstrate strong critical-thinking and communication skills, and are committed to delivering safe, high-quality, and compassionate care.

- check_circleDevelop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans with the interdisciplinary team
- check_circleDocument patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
- check_circleAssist with diagnostic tests, procedures, and patient preparation while maintaining safety protocols
- check_circleEducate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
- check_circleCollaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate high-quality patient care
- check_circleParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice projects

Requirements
- verifiedRecent or upcoming graduate of an accredited nursing program
- verifiedEligibility for RN licensure in Missouri prior to start
- verifiedBSN strongly preferred
- verifiedBLS certification from AHA
- verifiedACLS within designated timeframe after hire
- verifiedAbility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays
- verifiedBackground check, immunization, and health clearance
Nice to Have
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or within first year), Telemetry monitoring experience, Electronic charting experience with Epic or similar systems, Delegation and supervision of assistive personnel, De-escalation and crisis intervention skills.
