About the Role
Prime Staffing is seeking a Travel Nurse RN for a Med Surg position in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This role focuses on caring for a diverse patient population, with a heavy emphasis on post-surgical patients following robotic and laparoscopic-assisted procedures. The unit frequently handles bariatric surgeries, colon resections, thyroidectomies, hernia repairs, appendectomies, gallbladder surgeries, and biliary issues, alongside general Med-Surg patients.
The position operates on a night shift schedule (3x12-hour shifts) with a patient ratio of 6. The unit is supported by an interdisciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams.

Orientation:
- Day 1: Virtual
- Day 2: On-site
- Day 3: Additional training and EMR training
Note: Modules take an average of 3-4 hours to complete, though only 2 hours are billable.
