Our story starts with Pete Hietpas, a 21-year-old CNA who, while working in eastern Wisconsin, felt that staffing agencies were exchanging compassion for competitiveness. Determined to change that, he founded Nurses PRN in 1995 to become a model for the healthcare staffing industry—competitive in the marketplace yet maintaining a compassionate heart.

Over the years, the company evolved into PRN Healthcare, a nationwide organization inclusive of Nurses PRN and all our healthcare divisions. Our mission is to create authentic, meaningful relationships with healthcare professionals to set them up for success in their dream assignments, whether travel, local, or per diem. We operate on the simple idea that better care for our healthcare workers leads to better patient care.
