We are currently supporting the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) and the Space and Missile Defense (SDM) Center of Excellence (SMDCoE), also known as the US SMD School.
The SMDCoE is dedicated to educating and developing leaders for Space and Missile Defense operations, developing Army Doctrine for Space and Global Missile Defense, and executing the Army's Quality Assurance Program to ensure standards are met in the training of Soldiers and Civilians. This role provides critical support to the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) Branch within the Army Space Training Division (ASTD).
As a Senior Training Specialist, you will act as a subject matter expert in space capabilities, supporting the Army's training and operational readiness in the contested space environment. You will serve as an instructor, field trainer, and technical expert for Mission Command Training Program events, including Command Post Exercises. Your work will involve facilitating mobile training teams, providing Observer Controller/Trainer augmentation, and replicating contested space environments to ensure realistic training scenarios.
In this position, you will research emerging threats to Army space-enabled capabilities and update or develop training materials in coordination with SMDS training divisions. You will play a key role in Warfighter Exercise planning using the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) process, developing synchronized storylines and events via the Joint Master Scenario Event List (JMESL) tool. Additionally, you will collect observations during exercises, conduct after-action reviews, and provide executive summaries to government leads to drive continuous improvement in training content.
This is a temporary position with an estimated period of performance through May 2027, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
