Western Massachusetts Hospital, part of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), serves as the only public hospital in the western region of Massachusetts. We operate as a critical medical safety net for uninsured and under-insured residents, providing acute and chronic care to patients with complex conditions ranging from cardiac and pulmonary diseases to dementia and terminal illnesses. Our mission is to deliver high-quality care in a long-term care setting where familiar faces are the norm, maintaining a high staff-to-patient ratio to ensure optimal well-being for all.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is dedicated to preventing illness, injury, and premature death while promoting wellness and health equity for all people in the Commonwealth. We envision a Commonwealth where all people enjoy optimal health, centering those with systemically and culturally oppressed identities and circumstances.
We are seeking a motivated Trades Worker to contribute directly to the upkeep and improvement of our buildings and infrastructure. This role is designed for individuals who take pride in practical problem-solving, value teamwork, and are eager to build their skills while maintaining the functionality and safety of critical facilities.
As a Trades Worker, you will be an active partner to skilled tradespeople across multiple disciplines, including carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and masonry. You will learn from seasoned professionals while contributing to a team that keeps operations running smoothly. Participation in maintenance stand-by duties ensures you are part of a continuous cycle of care and improvement.
