CACI is seeking a Title Analyst to support a long-standing Department of Justice contract focused on Fifth Amendment takings cases, including Rails-to-Trails, flood, and fire disputes. This role is critical for ensuring the safety of our nation by providing the evidentiary backbone for complex federal litigation.
In this position, you will partner with federal trial attorneys to determine the legal significance of historical property records. Your work involves locating and reviewing modern and historical deeds, summarizing findings, and matching legal descriptions to historical property records maintained at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). You will frequently retrieve documents related to landowner claims filed against the United States, with periodic trips to NARA in College Park, MD, and occasional travel to local county offices required.
Once documents are sourced, you will review and summarize materials to identify gaps in historical title records, inconsistencies within historic conveyances, and failures of proof regarding modern ownership interests. You will draft written explanations of these findings for discussions with opposing counsel and potential court presentation. Additionally, you may analyze attorney fees and expenses submitted by opposing counsel, organizing costs in Excel and compiling objections. The role may also involve testifying at depositions or trials to support your fact research.
At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do. As a valued team member, you will be part of a high-performing group dedicated to our customer's missions and driven by a higher purpose. We foster an environment of trust where you have the autonomy to take the time you need through a unique flexible time off benefit and access to robust learning resources. Together, we advance our nation's most critical missions, build on our lengthy track record of business success, and find opportunities to break new ground in your career and our legacy.
CACI is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, age, national origin, disability, status as a protected veteran, or any other protected characteristic.
