As a Fleet Maintenance Technician at FedEx Freight, you play a critical role in keeping our logistics network moving. Your primary mission is to provide timely, quality, and cost-effective repair and maintenance for a diverse fleet, including tractors, trailers, forklifts, and specialized equipment. You will ensure safe and efficient operations by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting complex issues, and executing necessary modifications and repairs.
This position requires a blend of independent problem-solving and collaborative teamwork. You will work alongside other technicians to maintain equipment standards, perform safety inspections, and handle paint and body work as needed. Accuracy in documentation is essential; you will be responsible for completing both written and electronic reports for all maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
This role takes place in a dynamic environment that may include exposure to heavy traffic areas, dust, diesel fumes, and noise. You may be required to drive a service van to off-site locations and work in varying climate conditions. The job involves handling chemicals, oils, greases, and paints, and requires the ability to frequently lift components weighing approximately 110 pounds with appropriate equipment or assistance. Hours may vary to meet operational needs.
