About the Role
As a Mental Health Technician in our Parkview Geriatric Wellness Department, you will provide exceptional care to adult and geriatric patients. This role is designed for individuals eager to learn, offering on-the-job training with no prior experience required (though Nurse Assistant certification is a plus). You will work under the direction of licensed nursing personnel to support patient well-being.
A typical day involves performing patient care duties, utilizing appropriate equipment and procedures, and assisting with activities of daily living. You will encourage independent functioning when appropriate, perform frequent rounds to anticipate patient needs, and assist with individual and group activities. The position requires the ability to work at a fast pace, with approximately 90% of the day spent walking.
