About the Role
A Cath Lab Technician, also known as a Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technician, is a specialized healthcare professional dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions. Working alongside cardiologists, radiologists, and nursing staff, you will be the backbone of the cardiac catheterization lab, ensuring the seamless execution of complex procedures ranging from coronary artery disease interventions to structural heart repairs.
Your day is defined by a blend of technical precision and compassionate patient care. From the moment a patient enters the lab, you are responsible for creating a sterile, safe environment and preparing the sophisticated array of equipment required for the procedure. You will assist physicians during critical interventions like angioplasty and stent placement, operating fluoroscopy equipment to visualize blood flow while continuously monitoring the patient's vital signs. Beyond the procedure itself, your role extends to post-operative care, where you monitor recovery, manage complications, and provide essential education to patients and their families regarding their cardiac health and future care plans.
