About the Role
As a Patient Care Services Manager, you will serve as the operational and clinical leader for a dedicated hospice team. Your primary mission is to ensure that every patient and family receives integrated, compassionate care that aligns with VITAS values and principles. You will act as the bridge between clinical needs, administrative requirements, and the human experience of end-of-life care, ensuring that services are rendered effectively as part of a comprehensive interdisciplinary plan.
In this role, you will manage the full spectrum of patient care services, from admission assessments to discharge planning and bereavement support. You will collaborate closely with physicians to optimize pain and symptom management while overseeing the team's 24/7 coordination. Your day-to-day involves facilitating interdisciplinary meetings, mentoring staff on clinical and documentation standards, and ensuring that all care delivered meets rigorous regulatory and quality standards. You will also serve as a key resource for resolving complex patient and family concerns, often stepping in personally to address critical situations such as potential revocations.
Beyond clinical oversight, you will lead the team's operational efficiency. This includes managing staff and volunteer schedules, approving payroll and resource utilization, and driving cost-containment strategies without compromising care quality. You will champion a culture of continuous improvement, actively participating in quality assurance initiatives, regulatory surveys, and professional development to foster a high-performing team environment.

Requirements
