FirstHealth of the Carolinas is pleased to partner with Southern Pines Women's Health Center (SPWHC) to recruit physicians for inpatient and outpatient coverage. SPWHC is a thriving private practice based in Pinehurst, NC, with six office locations. FirstHealth is a private, community-based healthcare network serving the mid-Carolinas, recognized by Money Magazine and The Leapfrog Group as the first-ever Best Maternity Hospital.

Southern Pines Women's Health Center, a FirstHealth Clinic, has been dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate women's healthcare services since 1981. The center plays a vital role in supporting the well-being of women in the community, offering a wide range of services including obstetrics, gynecology, urogynecology, maternity care, family planning, preventive care, surgical cases, and pelvic floor physical therapy. The team consists of thirteen experienced physicians and seven dedicated Advanced Practice Providers, including four Certified Nurse Midwives. Seven partners have been with the practice for over 10 years, with some serving for more than 30 years.

This role offers a flexible schedule with part-time, full-time, or full-time with potential partnership opportunities in both ambulatory and inpatient settings. Deliveries and surgeries are performed at FirstHealth's flagship 402-bed hospital in Pinehurst, NC, which features access to three Da Vinci Robots for advanced robotic surgery. Physicians will join a highly skilled, supportive multidisciplinary team including Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists, Urogynecology, Gynecologic Oncology, Neonatologists, a Level III NICU, and pelvic floor PT. The integrated care team ensures comprehensive maternity services in a compassionate, warm, and comfortable environment.

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is a financially stable organization with four hospitals, primary and convenient care clinics, occupational health services, dental centers, home health, hospice & palliative care, and health & fitness centers. The network offers all major medical and surgical specialties, including Neonatology and GYN Oncology. The hospital features a Level III NICU capable of stabilizing infants younger than 28 weeks prior to transport and provides access to GYN Oncology in a new state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer center.
